Breaking Dawn Rumors: Filming Location In Louisiana?

More rumors are surfacing about Breaking Dawn. The latest is about where the film will be shot. Previously Twilight had been shot in Portland, OR. Both New Moon and Eclipse were shot in Vancouver, British Columbia. There are now reports that Breaking Dawn will be filmed in Louisiana, yet nothing has been confirmed or officially denied -

First, Summit this morning (Monday, May 17) responded to my inquiry of last week for comment on the rumors, first reported in a story in The Hollywood Reporter that relied on an unnamed source for its inside information

The studio’s statement came a few days too late for my story — which ran in Saturday’s editions of The Times-Picayune — and it was unsuprisingly vague. Here’s it is, in its entirety: “No details have been confirmed regarding ‘Breaking Dawn’ aside from the fact that Bill Condon will be directing.”

The second, more telling, development comes in the form of incorporation papers filed last week with the Louisiana Secretary of State’s office by an agent for Summit and establishing a new corporate entity called “TSBD LOUISIANA, L.L.C.” – which would seem to stand for “Twilight: Saga Breaking Dawn.”

Of course, filing incorporation papers is a long way from booking soundstages and crewing up — but as early signs go, it’s a good one that there might be truth to these rumors.

“Twilight: Breaking Dawn” would be based on the fourth book in the popular vampire-romance series, and there has been talk that it could be broken into two movies. Summit is hoping to beginning production this fall.

Eclipse TV Spot - Destiny

Summit Entertainment’s Official Twilight Twitter just tweeted that the first Eclipse TV Spot Destiny is being released via their Twilight Tracker application for the iPhone and iPod Touch!

Stephenie Meyer is hosting her own Eclipse mini-junket with Twilight fansite

How wonderful would it be if you get to chat and discuss with the non other than the author of The Twilight Saga, Stephenie Meyer herself. I mean...she is the one who made all this craziness and obsessiveness exist in the first place. Well, Stephenie Meyer will be having a press junket to 5 lucky twilight blogger she picked from a hat. lol...yes literally. Unfortunately, Twilighters Malaysia didn't even make the list as we are not from US. sigh....how we wish we are in US rite now. :'(

So, here is what Steph wrote on her site.

Hey guys,

I want to do something different with publicity for this movie release. For Twilight, I did the normal press junket, for New Moon I got to go on Oprah. Both of these were fun, exciting experiences. However, they both had the same drawback—the interviews were designed for a very broad audience, and because of that, most of the questions were about things you guys have known the answers to for years. I feel like all of the basic questions have been answered, and for Eclipse I want to focus on the more specific questions of the readers. To accomplish that, I'm hosting my own mini-junket with a few fansites. It will be held on Friday, June 18th, the week before the L.A. premiere.

Unfortunately, I can't talk to every single site, and I want to keep this as low key and enjoyable as possible. So I put all the U.S. fansites in a hat (for logistical reasons, we had to keep this in the country) and drew out four names.

The names I drew were:

  • Twilight Series Theories (twilightseriestheories.com)
  • Twilight Source (twilightsource.com)
  • Twifans (http://www.twifans.com/)
  • Letters To Twilight (letterstotwilight.wordpress.com)
Each of these sites is invited to send two members of their staff (or one member and a guest) to our fan-centric mini-junket. You will be contacted shortly by my assistant, who will give you all the specific information. In the event that any of the sites is unable to send representatives, I've already drawn four back up sites, which I will post if it becomes necessary.

I'll answer all of your questions (and your readers questions, if you want to poll them) about the Eclipse Movie, and the Bree story, as well, which will have been out for a few weeks by then. We'll have lunch, hang out, and hopefully have a fantastic time. I hope you all can make it!

-Steph

Official "Eclipse" Action Figures?

Above are Eclipse action figures of Edward Cullen, Victoria, and Jacob Black. No word yet if these are official or not!

There is a possibility that these are indeed the official action figures. If you go to ToysOnFire.com you can pre-order a Edward, Jacob, or Victoria action figure from Eclipse. However, it shows no picture of the actual merchandise.

Galaxie Magazine 17th May issue: Christina Aguilera giving too much info??

Anyone missed Christina Aguilera? Well, I do. The latest controversial thing she was in is the fact that Akon said she's trying to copy Lady Gaga. Haven't heard of the album yet (is it even out yet?)...so I can't judge it.

So, this month, Galaxie Magazine is featuring non other than the girl with a powerful singing voice, Christina Aguilera and according to them, the star is giving them way too much information. Of what? Well, I guess you'll need to buy a copy to know the whole story.

What's exciting in Galaxie this month??

OMG! It's TMI from Chris Aguilera, Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox etc

Robert Pattinson: Short-Haired Weekend Worker

Tending to his weekend agenda, Robert Pattinson was out running a few errands in Los Angeles, California on Sunday afternoon (May 16).

Escorted around town by his full-time bodyguard, the Edward Cullen hunk showed off a shorter hairdo as he toted a bag which looked to be stuffed with his latest movie script.

As previously reported by Gossip Center, Mr Pattinson was recently nominated for three MTV Movie Awards while "New Moon" also is among the Best Movie contenders.

As for Robert, he's up for Best Kiss with Kristen Stewart, Best Male Performance, and Global Superstar with the winners to be announced at a ceremony to be held June 6th at 9PM on MTV.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Oprah -- did they or didn't they?

Did Twilight stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson confirm that they were indeed a couple while backstage before a taping of an Oprah Winfrey show?

Depending on which version of the story making the rounds on the Internet caught your eye last week, the pair -- or their personal publicists and/or reps from Twilight studio Summit Entertainment -- confessed all to either the chat-show queen herself or her aides. In exchange, Winfrey promised to go easy on the dating question while on the air.

Fans at the taping confirmed that the TV host said at one point, "Everyone wants to know ...," which led to Pattinson joking that Stewart was pregnant and the actress countering by saying that Robert would have to have the baby if that were the case.

We will just have to wait until Thursday, when the Twilight-themed show is scheduled to air, to see if those comments made the cut. However, Winfrey's representatives have told USA TODAY's Susan Wloszczyna that no such encounter took place. So the mystery of "are they or aren't they " continues.

Pattinson, Lautner, Stewart keep 'Twilight' machine rolling

Robert Pattinson, left, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner hung out after an Oprah Winfrey Show taping in Chicago to talk about their film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, in theaters June 30. (it's 8th July for Malaysia)

A 'TWILIGHT' PRIMER

Don't know the difference between Team Edward and Team Jacob? Never fear. For latecomers to Twilight mania, USA TODAY's Susan Wloszczyna offers a few quick facts about the three stars of the movie series that continues with the arrival of Eclipse June 30.

Taylor Lautner, 18

Birthplace: Grand Rapids, Mich.

Notable feature: Abs of steel

Acting experience: Began on TV at age 9. Played Sharkboy in the 2005 family fantasy The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D.

Twilight role: Jacob Black, Native American blue-collar werewolf with anger issues who pines for best pal Bella.

Eclipse dilemma: Can he persuade Bella to return his love and not join the undead?

Kristen Stewart, 20

Birthplace: Los Angeles

Notable feature: Tends to not smile much in public.

Acting experience: Began with non-speaking movie part at age 8. Was Jodie Foster's daughter in the 2002 thriller Panic Room.

Twilight role: Bella Swan, a smart, pretty, yet awkward high schooler who finds herself attracted to guys who exhibit supernatural tendencies.

Eclipse dilemma: Wants to spend eternity with Edward by becoming a vampire but is not as certain about marriage.

Robert Pattinson, 24

Birthplace: London

Notable feature: Messy hair

Acting experience: Ex-model first performed before cameras in 2004. Played Cedric Diggory in 2005's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Twilight role: Edward Cullen, gorgeous yet tortured teen vampire who is actually more than a century old, sparkles in the sun and feeds only on the blood of animals.

Eclipse dilemma: Wants to wed Bella, but is torn about ending her human life and changing her into a vampire.

Dashingly disheveled Robert Pattinson has an infectious, high-pitched laugh that would never do for his seductive vampire lover-boy, Edward Cullen. Buff-and-polished Taylor Lautner is pocket-size compared with the looming stature of his werewolf counterpart, Jacob Black. Casual yet cool Kristen Stewart can be a real chatterbox, unlike her moody Bella Swan, the high schooler in a romantic tug of war between these two supernatural objects of teen desire.

Lucky girl, right? "Yeah, but that's in the movies," Stewart says about bringing to life the modern-day Gothic heroine from the insanely popular Twilight book series (85 million copies sold so far). "I'm just the ultimate fan. If you read a story and you like it andconnect to it, it probably means you've inserted yourself in the story, and I get to do that on the most glorified level possible."

Hollywood fantasy regularly blends with everyday reality for these three blazing-hot rising stars. It has taken a while for a cultural navigator like Oprah Winfrey to zero in on the heat behind the literary-spawned phenom. But on this early May morning, Twilight fever is raging at Harpo Studios as the actors file into the backstage area after taping a show that aired Thursday. The occasion? Eclipse, the third chapter in an already billion-dollar worldwide franchise that arrives June 30.

The actors are unfazed by the shrieking adoration of a largely female audience, many in black Twilight T's — Team Edward and Team Jacob are duly represented — and all handpicked for their passion for the epic movie series based on author Stephenie Meyer's four-part saga.

"It's so nice sometimes, preaching to the converted," says Pattinson, 24, the London-born overnight sex symbol and primary reason for the screams. Thanks to his devoted worshipers, he has been elevated from a little-known Harry Potter supporting player to one of Time's 100 most influential people in the world in less than three years. They were out in force the night before at a Winfrey-sponsored screening of an unfinished print of Eclipse. Afterward, a firestorm of fan Tweets rife with "OMGs" gushed about the much-anticipated sequel to 2008's Twilight and last year's New Moon.

Once Stewart, 20, painstakingly signs Winfrey's guest book and Lautner, 18, stops practicing his grape-tossing parlor trick, the castmates settle into a buttery leather sofa to talk about such topics as the iconic moments that are re-created in Eclipse, run-ins with other celebrities and what the post-Twilight future holds.

The fame game
But, first, the pain of fame that comes from being on the paparazzi's most-wanted list is addressed. When New Moon opened last fall, barely a day went by without seeing a headline about Lautner and country cutie Taylor Swift or speculation on whether Pattison and Stewart are a real-life couple.

Although, lately, the frenzy has calmed somewhat, judging by the number of Twilight-free magazine covers at grocery checkouts. "I don't know if this is the actual reason why, but we have gotten better at hiding over the last year," Pattinson says.

"That's totally the reason," Stewart concurs. "They just make up a story to go along with the pictures. If they never get the picture, there's no story. We are just good hiders now."

Such subterfuge includes neither confirming nor denying that they are in a relationship. Yet there clearly is some sort of special connection between the two, what with their playful teasing and personal asides. Let's just say it wasn't Lautner who placed a hand on Pattinson's leg during a portion of the interview.

But all three take their Twilight-related duties to heart, whatever they might require. Stewart even leaps up in a panic at one point, fearing she misspelled a word in her salutation to Winfrey. She checks the book: "Believe — ie or ei?"

"I before e except after c," Pattinson responds. She checks. "Oh, yeah," she says with a triumphant fist pump.

Pattinson laughs. "I almost spelled Oprah wrong. I almost wrote Opera."

The actors are keen to know how Eclipse played to the crowd at the screening and are pleased to hear that every element has been heightened: the horror, the romance, the three-way interaction among their characters, the touches of humor that often come at the expense of Edward and Jacob's rivalry — especially after they forge a testy alliance to save Bella from a roving gang of rabid newborn vampires.

Stewart says of Eclipse's positive early reception: "It is a well-oiled machine at this point. We have had a lot of time to establish what this thing is about and a lot of time to consider it. And they gave us so much more money this time. So that is exciting."

Pattinson, looking bemused, quickly clarifies her statement. "For the film. The budget."

Stewart is chagrined. "Oh, my God. No, no. That didn't even occur to me. They gave us so much more money to make the film look good!"

The leads did get raises — Stewart and Pattinson are taking home a reported $7.5 million each plus a percentage of the gross, Lautner gets $5 million — while the production's price tag grew to $65 million, still modest compared with similar franchises.

Yet the few extra bucks seem to have paid off, especially with the effects. Even Lautner's CG wolf alter-ego is more adorable than in New Moon. "Yeah," says the actor, sheepishly. "It was very cuddly. I don't know if that's what we were aiming for."

He waffles over the wisdom of sharing an anecdote about the scene in which the vicious horse-sized beast sweetly nuzzles Bella and she scratches his ear. After a little coaxing, he relents.

"That day I came on set and put on this tight gray spandex suit ..."

"There is dialogue and I talk to him," Stewart explains. "I said, 'How am I going to do this without Taylor?' " So instead of the actress pretending that a massive computer-animated wolf was nearby, Lautner volunteered to be its stand-in.

"Basically, it looked like a Teletubby," he continues about his outfit. "I had this circle on the face but everything else was covered. It was weird. But, yeah, I stood there and would literally bend over ..."

"I would actually pet his head," Stewart adds.

Pattinson, meanwhile, struggled with Edward's rather formal proposal to Bella, which reflects the fact that although his vintage vampire looks 17, he hails from the turn of the last century.

"I was dreading the day it was coming," he says of the scene that was held until the very end of the shoot. "The first time I read the script, I thought, 'This is impossible.' " References to "promenades" and sharing "iced tea on the porch" as Edward explains how he would have courted Bella in the old days especially stuck in his throat. "It's so earnest. I finally convinced the producers that you can play it with a bit of awareness of not being a fictional character. I'm not trying to be part of a Gothic novel."

When Pattinson finally watched it, however, he was pleasantly surprised. "It seems different when you see it."

Their profiles have grown with each film, and celebrity status does afford them the chance to mingle with their own idols. Although, more often than not, the other stars are the ones bedazzled as they request autographs for their Twilight-crazed kids.

"I took a picture with Ron Howard last year at the Oscars," Pattinson recalls. "I thought it was the funniest thing. I asked, 'Is it for your kids?' He said, 'No, it's for me. I want to have it on my phone.' " Making the situation even odder: Howard's daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, is in Eclipse.

Alas, Pattinson has yet to run into his favorite, Jack Nicholson.

Stewart pipes up: "I have."

Pattinson: "What? When did you meet?"

Stewart: "At a screening for Into the Wild," her 2007 coming-of-age drama directed by Sean Penn. "He was exactly like you think he would be."

Pattinson, sounding peeved: "You never told me that."

Lautner joins in. "I didn't meet him but I sat next to him at a Lakers game."

Pattinson, utterly exasperated: "What?"

Life beyond 'Twilight'

Next subject. The three are actively trying to ward off post-Twilight typecasting by doing solo projects in between. Stewart and Pattinson, both bookworms and drawn to art-house fare, earned OK reviews but underwhelming ticket sales for their two recent releases, the girl-band bio The Runaways and the romantic melodrama Remember Me.

But they continue to be in demand for more mature roles. Stewart is psyched to be a part of a big-screen version of Jack Kerouac's On the Road, which starts shooting in August. Pattinson recently wrapped his work on the London set of Bel Ami as a 19th-century social-climbing rogue opposite Kristin Scott Thomas, Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci. Does he bed all three?

"Yes, but they're not like typical love scenes at all," he says.

Adds Stewart: "They're all a little weird. A little edgy. And a little nude." Chuckling ensues.

Meanwhile, Lautner — a natural athlete who played a high school track star in the box-office-topping ensemble comedy Valentine's Day— seems to be angling to become the next big action hero with upcoming roles in the thriller Abduction and Stretch Armstrong, a 3-D adventure based on a toybox muscleman.

Did he ever own one of the dolls, whose limbs could be pulled and elongated like taffy? "I don't remember having one at my house, but I totally remember stretching that sucker."

Then there is the next Twilight feature, Breaking Dawn, opening Nov. 18 next year. The fourth and presumably final book is so jammed with life-altering events — a wedding, first-time sex between Bella and Edward, a grotesquely painful birth — that there has been talk of doing two films back to back. And it might even be in 3-D. But the actors can confirm only their involvement.

What has been decided is that Breaking Dawn's director will be Bill Condon, the filmmaker behind Dreamgirlsand Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Chicago.

Have they met Condon, who already posted a letter on Facebook reassuring fans of his appreciation of the material and that the film most definitely will not be a musical despite his résumé?

Lautner nods yes.

Pattinson: "When did you meet him?" Lautner: "One day." Stewart: "Did you have a meeting?" Lautner: "No, no." Pattinson: "I literally met him three nights ago."

Stewart, in a mock snit: "Well, he obviously doesn't want to meet me."

Oh Robsten, don't you know we have eyes everywhere?

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning and Taylor Lautner all taped an episode for The Oprah Winfrey Show earlier this week, to air May 13.

While some fans were treated to a special screening of Eclipse, the good stuff happened with the cameras weren't rolling.

Like when Rob and Kristen confirmed to Oprah backstage they are in fact dating:

"We were all briefed before the show how to handle the talent," says our source who works for the Big O. "Part of what we were told was that Rob and Kristen are dating."

Come again?

So here's how it went down:

Apparently, before Robsten and the gang went to tape the segment, they went over with Oprah what she was going to ask. O said she had to "go there" and gave Rob and Kristen the heads-up she was going to ask the big dating question.

Robsten and their people obviously said they wouldn't straight-up answer, no surprise there, so Rob, Kristen and Oprah came to a little agreement.

When asked, Rob and Kristen could totally give the coy nonanswer answer (Rob joked Kristen was pregnant, Kristen joked Rob was having the baby), and O wouldn't press it too hard on air.

On one condition—she wanted to know what was really happening.

Dishes our Oprah spy:

"Obviously Oprah had to ask something during the taping, but agreed beforehand she wouldn't be too hard on [Rob and Kristen] if they told her what was really going on. Both Rob and Kristen's people and Summit then confirmed ahead of time [Rob and Kristen] are together and are dating. One hundred percent."

At least O knows how to get it out of them somehow! And really, are you going to lie to Oprah? No way!

So that's the little agreement our fave couple settled on. They could get away with the deflected joking answer, but Oprah (and her crew) needed to know what was really up with them.

As for how the Twilight couple interacted behind the scenes? Let's just say it certainly wasn't as tense as it was in Vancouver!

"They weren't superaffectionate or anything," says our source, who was with Rob, Kristen and the cast the entire time they were at the show.

"Kristen seemed a little awkward and nervous, but Rob didn't at all. He was really friendly and was cracking jokes the entire time."

So is the confirmation to Oprah enough for you Nonsten's that Rob and Kristen (who arrived back in L.A. together this week, too) are still happily together? Of course not, didn't think so.

But for your entertainment, then, you can check out of an eyewitness who saw Robsten kissing and cuddling in the airport as they left Chicago together.

You know, just for giggles.

No More Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene in Breaking Dawn?

Starry-eyed, vampire-loving romantics aren't the only ones jealous of Bella and Edward right now.

Summit Entertainment is primed to split the final Twilight Saga installment, Breaking Dawn, into two films: author Stephenie Meyer has signed off; Bill Condon's onboard to direct two; Robert Pattinson is ready to roll, as are Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

So what's the holdup on declaring Breaking Dawn a twofer?

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it's some of the so-called secondary and lesser-paid stars of the series, particularly Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene, who have not agreed to Summit's terms and are demanding more money for their pale-faced efforts.

A source told the trade that the offers the actors received for the proposed fifth film were "offensive" in comparison with how much dough the franchise has earned. Another insider says, meanwhile, that Summit might be willing to cut ties with at least one of them to "make a point."

Now, fans have already been forced to accept a midsaga cast change: Bryce Dallas Howard replaces Rachelle Lefevre as the murderous Victoria in the upcoming Eclipse.

But there might be a mutiny if the Cullen clan is replaced with newcomers!

Not sure if this is true, but I think this is just rumors. Replacing these two seems to be not a wise move. Especially Ashley Green. We are so used of her being our sweet Alice Cullen. ~ Beta

Eclipse Trailers Combined

OMG!! I just can't wait!!!

Another Eclipse Stills

They seem to be in deep discussion huh? But I think the make up has grown thicker and thicker from movie to movie. Twilight look was the best I think. Though...that look when Edward was walking towards Bella in the parking lot (in New Moon)...was...heart stopping!!

Carlisle looked like a doll and Emmet looked like someone who just came out from Star Trek camp. Don't make me start on Jasper's hair...and Edward?? He looked old. hmmmmm.....

So what do you guys think? Which make up is the best from Twilight to Eclipse. ;)

Details of Oprah Show Tapping with The Trio

A couple weeks back, Oprah announced on her website that she was looking for the "ultimate 'Twilight' fans" to be a part of her top-secret May 13 show (airing on that day specifically because it's RPattz's birthday!), which would cover the release of the newest film, "Eclipse." We already found out that the lucky few who were selected got a chance to be a very early look at the entire film, and today got the attend the show's taping with special guests Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Dakota Fanning.

Now, since we're Hollywood Crush and obviously didn't want to miss a beat, we knew we would be remiss if we didn't do our best to track down some of the lucky attendees and get some inside info on the show a week before it airs.

It's already been announced all over Twitter that Oprah asked Rob and Kristen the Big Question: whether or not they are an item. Niekema Hudson, who Tweeted the majority of the events last night and today, told us in a phone interview that despite Oprah's yes-or-no question, Rob and Kristen still managed to avoid answering it.

"[Oprah] asked the question directly, like, 'So, everybody wants to know!' but they really did avoid the question," 31-year-old Niekema said. "They both kind of looked like, 'Uhh, are we supposed to answer this?' and then Rob joked that Kristen was pregnant, and she joked that, 'If I'm pregnant, then Rob's going to have the baby.'"

The pregnant part is cute :)...when will this episode air in Malaysia??!! I guess we have to watch via youtube again. sigh....

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Finally Gets A Release Date!!

OMG!!! This is huge!!! Breaking Dawn will be released on 18th November 2011!! Well, no doubt it's gonna be such a long wait and I bet the drought is gonna be worst than Eclipse drought. From what I heard, Eclipse was supposed to be out November this year, but they couldn't get a cinema slot, so they opt to release in June 2010 instead.

According to Deadline, 2 movies:

Save the date, Twi-hards: November 18th, 2011. the studio still has no official word on whether it's be 2 films or one -- but Deadline sources still say it'll be 2 pics and Bill Condon will likely direct both.

From Hitfix

A Summit Entertainment spokesperson has confirmed to HitFix that "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" will open nationwide on Nov. 18, 2011. It's still officially unknown if "Dawn" will be broken up into one or, as rumored, two films. Stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are all expected to return.

Directed by Oscar-winner Bill Condon, the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer's popular series chronicles Bella's most advanced initiation into the vampire world to date, but is also seen by many as the most difficult to adapt of all the best-selling novels. Melissa Rosenberg, who adapted the first two novels, would continue in that role for "Dawn."

"Breaking Dawn" will face off against "Happy Feet 2" and the Hugh Jackman Sci-Fi thriller "Real Steel." Even with the lucrative Thanksgiving weekend the following week, expect at least one of these films to move their release date to avoid going head-to-head with the "Twilight" franchise.

The third movie in the series, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," will debut in theaters on June 30 nationwide and in IMAX.

The 2010 Time 100, Rob Pattinson

This was out few days back. I'm sure all you Rob fans have read it. But if you haven't..here it is :)

Robert Pattinson
By Chris Weitz Thursday, Apr. 29, 2010

I have to be careful about what I write here because it will be tweeted the moment TIME hits the stands. And if I say something bad about Rob Pattinson, I'm dead meat. That's the devotion the Twilight films inspire. It's certainly not how he planned it. And though I am continually impressed by the aplomb with which he handles the hysteria, I occasionally think he would take it all back if given the chance. Because essentially, Rob, 23, is a reserved, bookish sort of specimen, a guy who'd rather spend the night at the corner table in the pub with friends — a bit of a weirdo, frankly, in the best sense.

So how to write about someone who seems to answer Freud's rhetorical question, What do women want? Perhaps it's just worth pointing out that it'd be fun to have a beer with him even if he weren't Edward Cullen. That we haven't seen a tenth of what he can do onscreen. And that important things, beyond the veil of Hollywood, occupy his time too — music, conversation, ideas, a sense of the absurd. Which, maybe, explains why he never gets to my e-mails. I love you, Rob! Call me!

A note to fans from Bill Condon

Greetings Twihards, Twifans, Twilight Moms, Team Edward, Team Jacob and Team Switzerland,

I just want to say hello to all of you and let you know that I'm stoked to be getting underway on the adventure of making BREAKING DAWN. As you've probably heard, I've been given a very warm welcome by Stephenie and Team Summit - who are super-focused, as you know, on getting these movies right.

I'm pretty busy bringing myself up to speed on what you already know by heart: I've read BREAKING DAWN twice, rewatched Catherine's and Chris's movies 2-3 times each, have all four CDs playing in my car, and have Catherine's notebook, Mark Cotta Vaz's companion books, and even Volume 1 of the graphic novel here on my desk - a corner of my office is starting to look like Hot Topic. I realize that this barely qualifies me for "newborn" status in the universe you've been living inside for a few years now, but a guy's gotta start somewhere.

Like many of you, I've always been slightly obsessed with vampires, dating back to the prime-time series DARK SHADOWS, which I followed avidly as a kid. But that alone hadn't been enough to get me interested in making a vampire movie, even though my early screenwriting and directing efforts grew out of a great love for horror movies and thrillers. Since making GODS AND MONSTERS thirteen years ago, however, I've been yearning for a return to a story with Gothic overtones.

The wonderful world that Stephenie has created has obviously struck a chord with you, and I don't think it's difficult to see why. For me, her characters are simultaneously timeless, yet very modern. Rooted in a beautiful, real landscape with a great sense of place, Bella, Edward, Jacob, and the rest of the Forks/La Push menagerie, experience emotions that are primal, and universal: desire, despair, jealousy - and it all comes to fruition in BREAKING DAWN. This is a final chapter in the best sense; not just wide in scope and scale, but emotionally charged and intense throughout.

I'm a huge admirer of the already-iconic Kristen, Robert, and Taylor, and wanted to be the one to work with them as they face the challenges of bringing your beloved characters to the end of their journeys. Really, what could be more fun than that?

Please feel free to ask questions in the comments section below, and I'll do my best to answer them. I hope that this will be the first of many occasions I'll get to check in with you as we set to work bringing BREAKING DAWN to the screen. I am excited and grateful to have all of you alongside me for my TWILIGHT journey.

All best,
Bill Condon
