Twilighters Malaysia - The Twilight Saga : Breaking Dawn Part 1 Special Screening

As we do every year, Twilighters Malaysia organized a special screening on 23rd November 2011 (one day before official release date in Malaysia - 24th Nov 2011) for the 4th sequel of The Twilight Saga. It is kind of sad to know that this will be the second last of the end of the saga. Nonetheless, we still manage to pull of a fun event for all the fans and hopefully they enjoyed the event as much as we do.

These girls have helped me a lot since the beginning of the planning. Last year, everything was pretty much on my own. However, this year..since I am in my first trimester and couldn't be as active as before, the commitment and time were really important to make this happen. (someone said my life imitates Twilight since I am pregnant during Breaking Dawn :P) Thank you so much twi-sisters!! Love you all so much!!  I had a pretty bad temperature & non-stop vomiting the day before the event and prayed hard that I'll recover in event day. Fortunately I did. I guess my little nudger loves Twilight too!

On the event day, like every year, we have few volunteers to add up to the team to help us out during the event day with the goodie bags preparations and other task during the event. I personally thank all of them for their support and hard work on that day. You all have surely help us to make the event perfect!!

This year, the event was a bit more unique with the theme 'EPIC WEDDING'. I have rented the flower arch as a simbol of the wedding and Marsila (http://rizqcakes.blogspot.com), a fellow twilighters sponsored a beautiful and gorgeous (not to mention delicious) special design cupcakes standee that catch the eye of everyone that day. I really love it!!

Like last year, we have costume competition (cosplay) and also lucky draws. All these prizes & goodies are sponsored by our beloved sponsors Galaxie Magazine Malaysia, MPH Bookstores, Marriott Hotel Putrajaya, Warner Music Malaysia, Rizqcakes & Innoform Media. Also inconjucntion with Bella's pregnancy, we also had a special lucky draw for pregnant women. Yey!! I love giving out prizes!! Like I said to someone; "I love sharing the love for Twilight with others! It is so much FUN!! :)"

Although the event might not be 100% perfect but I really hope everyone enjoyed being at the event and will continue to come for the finale next year. We are planning for a huge one for the finale!!

Twilighters Malaysia - 'Water for Elephants' Special Screening 4th May 2011

As twihards, we are also die hard fans of our gorgeous Robert Pattinson and we try to support all his films. So, on 4th May 2011, we did a mini special screening for his latest movie, 'Water for Elephants'. The event was held at Platinum Movie Suites, Cathay Cineplex and attended by 22 guest. The recliner seats were super comfy.

The event starts with us shouting out wishing Robert's 25th birthday which will fall on 13th May to participate in Spunk Ransom Robert birthday video project. :)




Later, we had lucky draws and also a 15 questions quiz all about Robert and 'Water for Elephants'. I love giving away goodies and was happy that everything went well. Those who were lucky won Set of 3 Water for Elephants posters, Water for Elephants book (movie-tie in), Special Water for Elephants bookmark, Water for Elephants soundtrack and MPH mug.

Twilighters Malaysia - The Twilight Saga: Eclispe Charity Screening

On 7th July 2010, we have orgazined a The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Charity Screening at Hall 2 and Hall 3, GSC Pavillion, Kuala Lumpur and in MBO Spring Mall, Kuching. It was attended by total about 560 fans. Yes! This year was bigger than our New Moon screening which was attended by only 274 fans and it is our first time in Kuching. We had the help of fellow twihard Mell from Kuching to help us out. We had such a blast at the event and the respond for Cosplay competition was awesome! So many came dressed up their best to win the competition. We even had lucky draws session with 10 lucky winners walking away with Twilight Journal Box Set, Eclipse Movie Companion, 2 Disc Special New Moon DVD, Bree Tanner book and Twilight Graphic Novel respectively.

The Twilight Saga Marathon at Cathay e@Curve

We had a SPOT THE BILLBOARD CONTEST and the winners get to join us to go to The Twilight Saga Marathon organized by Nusantara Edaran Filem (NEF).

The winners were Sunie Nordin, Atikah Shaari and Nadia Khan.

They were chosen based on the criteria/rules we have given for the contest. Mainly their creativity and slogan. As most of the entry just send us their picture without they themsleves in the picture, it was pretty easy for us to find the winners.

Twilighters Malaysia & Edward Cullen Birthday Bash 2010!

On 19th June 2010, we had a birthday bash celebrating Twilighters Malaysia one year anniversary and Edward Cullen 109 birthday. We had and awesome time with the marathon and Eclipse Sneak peak and a quiz session in between. The girls got awesome goodies [I just love giving out gift! ~Azlina (Beta)]. Oh..and by the way...there were lots of scream too. ahahahah

Thank you to Sunie who brought her lovely cupcakes and Zaleha who brought cute chocolate with Edward and Jacob (though not sure why Jacob was invited to Edward's birthday...eheheh) face printed on them. Everyone was fighting to get Edward chocolate and bite him. LOL

We had a birthday countdown at 12 midnight as you all know our anniversary and Edward birthday false on 20th June!

So here are the pictures taken during the event. Maybe next year we will have a bigger one. What say you twihards??

Promotion of Eclipse Special Charity Screening already started at MBO Kuching!!

First of all, we would like to thank MBO for allowing us to promote our event at their premise prior to the event.

Two event bunting have been placed at the entrance and at the foyer leading to the box office :)...hopefully we will get more ticket booking as we still have seats to sell. Come one Kuching!! Support us!!

The Twilight Saga: New Moon TOKYO PREMIER 17 November 2009

Our TwiFriends in Tokyo was also been given a treat to a premier (of course sans the cast members who are of course still in the states), just 11 hours after the LA premier in the states. Laurel, Katie and Mell whom we met at the Robert Pattinson Tokyo Fan Event were there and below are Laurel's outtake (spoiler alert, some detailed descriptions on New Moon scenes!!!)

"The theater was really nice, and we didn't have to wait in line at all. We had to turn off our phones, check in our cameras, have our purses/bags searched, and then they had a metal detector. I guess they were really serious about no footage leaking.

One of the bad things was that they put us in the very front row. It made it a little difficult to watch, and it hurt my eyes in some scenes. A women came up and announced the movie, and spoke for a bit. Of course it was in Japanese, and I didn't understand most of it. To our suprise, when the film turned on, there was Robert Pattison greeting us, and telling us he hoped we liked the movie. He must've filmed this when he came to the fan meeting. I wouldn't say that he looked his best, he seemed very tired, and messy...but it was still nice.

As far as the movie goes: I like New Moon much more than Twilight. When I first watched Twilight, I had recently read the books, so I was annoyed at all the things that were different, and how fast their relationship progressed. This time, since I hadn't just read New Moon, I was able to enjoy it more, and it brought back many memories of the book. Although Edward isn't in this movie near as much as the last, I think his acting is much better. The intense scene where he says he's leaving, was done really well. It made me a little teary. I'm not a huge fan of Kristen Stewart, but I think she played Bella much more maturely, and more confidently. The way they show time passing, and her being depressed is carried out creatively, and the cinematography is much better.

Now on to Jacob.......(I might need a tissue for my drool). Let me be clear that I've always been on Team Edward. New Moon was my least favorite book, because of course there was less Edward and more Jacob. I find Jacob's character arrogant, and pushy. This movie made me almost consider switching teams! Of course, that thought came as soon as he cut his hair, and showed off his body. WOW!!! He immediately lost that little boy face, and immature attitude, and seemed more like a man. The Wolves also looked a lot better than I remember them looking on the early previews they released. The wolf that plays Sam is a little less real looking, but the others were perfect.

The interactions with the Volturi were also wonderful. Their elegance, and mannerism almost made them likeable. Dakota Fanning portrays Jane excellently. I can't wait to see more of her in Breaking Dawn.

Per the book, you see the rest of the Cullens very minimally. Jasper in my opinion looks horrible (once again). It looks like he's wearing a big, yellow, ugly, curly wig. He's one of my favorite characters, and I hate that they don't have a more handsome actor playing him.....or at least make him look better. I don't know if you're familiar with the movie Edward Scissorhands, but that's exactly who he looks like to me. I also enjoyed seeing the actress who plays Victoria again, and I'm very disappointed she won't be returning to portray her in the next movies. She shows a lot more of her skill and power in this movie.

After the movie Katie, our friend Dacia, and I were asked to do a quick TV interview. They told us all to say one English word like: "Good", "Amazing", or "Incredible". We all decided what we were going to say ahead of time. Well, Katie steals Dacia's word, then Dacia steals my word. Then they catch us off guard by asking us more questions. Dacia ended up saying "Edward's Sexy", and I ended up saying something about loving Edward, Jacob, and my Husband. lol. I was so nervous and turned bright red! Mel and I wore our sweatshirts that I bought in Forks, and many people pointed at them, and some even complimented us. We recognized a few people from the fan meet and greet. They sold calendars, magazines (with pictures from the Tokyo fan meeting), and trading cards".

Looks like fun times!!! Honestly Laurel, with Jacob's new found prowess, who wouldn't think to switch sides eh? We are anticipating an outbreak of the "Switching Sides" syndrome hitting the TwiDom very² soon! We are also waiting for Katie's update (and pics) and will be updating it here ASAP.

TWILIGHTERS MALAYSIA EXCLUSIVE: RP TOKYO FAN EVENT 2009 COVERAGE - PART 1: DEPARTURE

Hey Twilighters!

First and foremost, thank you for waiting. It's been a hectic few days full of events and my, was it worth it! So we'll kick off our reports from the very beginning...

HOW IT CAME TO PASS

Well, you might be wondering what kind of luck are we striking till we manage to get ourselves a trip to Japan for the RP Fan Event? To us, its not really luck, but its fate. We were talking to fellow Twilighter - Grace from Tayangan Unggul, the official movie distributor in Malaysia for Twilight and New Moon one day, to finalize a few things in regards to their support for our New Moon Unofficial Mini Premier and the topic of us possibly attending the event (on our own expenses) came out.

So, being overly excited as we (always) are about anything Twilight, we started the planning even while we were waiting for the go from Tayangan Unggul's US counterpart. We approached various parties for sponsorship, applied for our Japan VISA, made travel arrangements etc. We were lucky to have MEP Education Consult Sdn Bhd, the publisher of MEP Magazine to sponsor our trip, however, up to Thursday, 29 October 2009 when our VISA was approved, we are still not in the news on the buy-in from US.

The good news reached us on Friday, 30 October. US said YES and that sets the clock in motion. We finalized all arrangements and confirmed our itinerary on the same day...

DEPARTURE

Both Azlina and I believe (so much) that its fate that brought us this trip. We were to depart KL en route to Tokyo via Japan Airlines (JAL) flight JL 724, ETD KUL @ 2305 hrs on 02 November 2009 and ETA NRT @ 0655 hrs on 03 November 2009 (the day of the event). Talk about last minute :p. We should arrive just in time to get ourselves in queue for the tickets (ticket counters are scheduled to open at 1pm, Japan time on 03 November for collection) as Shinagawa (the venue city) is like 1.5 hrs journey by train from Narita Airport where we are to land. We were sent off by our families and fellow Twilighter, Sunie Nordin (thanks Sunie!).

Call it butterflies or jitters or even cold feet, we were chanting "We're going to Japan, we're going to Japan, I can't believe we're going to Japan!" like a mantra the whole way. We can't sleep a wink so we decided to finalize the questions that we wanted to ask RP as we were told we could have the chance.

Since our sponsor MEP Magazine is an educational magazine some of the questions that we have lined up are "How does RP sees himself as a role model to young people, especially in getting them to stay away from things like drug abuse" or "What drives and inspires him to be a successful artist at such a young age" etc... Oh of course, we listed some hot gossip questions too like "Which Twilighter you like best, Nurul or Nurul (hey, Azlina's first name is Nurul too..hahaha)" :p <--kidding! Brave and determined as we are, we finally succumbed to the sandman and slept (he must be using some A grade sand tho)...And what happens next is part two (darn this internet connection...it's so slow, part two will hafta wait till tomorrow, it's already like 1.30am!!!)

Greetings, it has been awhile since I manage to type anything...Anyways, its only 39 days to go to The Twilight Saga: New Moon public screening in Malaysia...Aren'y you all excited? Well I am! And for those who managed to secure themselves tickets to our inaugural Mini Premier, this time of The Twilight Saga: New Moon...its only 38 days to go, don't forget to download and print out your official receipt (for those who have paid) from the event page and bring it along to claim your tickets and goodie bags on the event day.

As mentioned earlier, this year's event marks a first in the Malaysian TwiDom and you too can be part of it! There are still limited seats available and if you hurry, you might just be able to grab one (or two, or three, or four...) for you and your friends and families...
Getting a seat is easy, just PM me or my Beta, Azlina Mahbob, you can find us on the event page or on the group page, let us know how many pax you need, leave us your contact no and email address and make the payment (payment information will only be given once you make the RSVP).. Once payment is made and confirmation is done by Azlina, you can then download your official receipt from the event page and bring it to claim your tickets and goodie bags on the event day...
