Twilightish ECXLUSIVE : Interview with Billy Burke

Twilightish had the opportunity to talked to Billy Burke a.k.a Charlie Swan, our most beloved cool father in twilight. Don't you just love him? :)

Here is the snippet of the interview;

Twilightish: How does it feel to see the end of the Twilight Saga? Are you happy to move on?
Billy: It's weird you know? Cause it's kinda like being on a television show for the last three years. It was a steady gig for me you know? I can't say that I'm heart broken about it but it was a good gig for me. I'm a little on the fence about how I feel. I think that it has run its course, and we as artists and audiences have gotten everything we can possibly get out of it. Always happy to be moving on. I have no idea what is next for me.

Twilightish: Did you find it emotional to watch Bella get married?
Billy: You know what? It wasn't so much that it was emotional. Those days we were shooting the wedding, in all honesty, there was something about them that brought stuff up not only in me, but in other people on the set. Something that was visceral. We ended up saying "this is kinda weird isn't it?" I can't explain what it was, it wasn't like my daughter was getting married, but there was definitely something that was quite touching going on.

Twilightish: How much of yourself did you put into the character of Charlie?
Billy: Charlie has a sort of reserved nature, that I'm told I have as well. Beyond that he's a cop and I couldn't be further away from a cop, in attitude and daily actions. He also loves to watch sports and I don't really. It's a world of make believe, originally Charlie didn't read like he does now. Those ticklish funny moments came out by accident when I started working the part. So I guess Melissa (Rosenberg) took that and ran with it for the rest of the series. That was nice!

Breaking Dawn filming news - Video of the stunt rehearsals at the Swan residence

We previously showed you pictures of a stunt team rehearsing at the Swan residence, set up in Surrey, British Columbia. Rumours floating around saying that they were prepping for filming a scene when the boys, Jasper and Emmett, pick up Edward for his bachelor party ala vampire style aka hunting.

Below is a video of that rehearsal.

Breaking Dawn filming news : The Swan residence exterior is decked out in Christmas decor

Charlie and Bella's house set in Vancouver is now fully completed and decorated for the holidays on the exterior. Seems that Bella is bringing Renesmee to Charlie's house for Christmas fairly soon. According to sources there is no sign posted for road closures at the set, but the house has been decorated with Christmas lights and a green garland decorates the door. The 12 foot chain link fence has been removed but a yellow caution tape runs the perimeter of the property. A large no trespassing sign is nailed to a post. There is also a Truck cab laid out beside the house. The house is finally completed and ready for the production trucks.

Now we have the exterior shots to match the one that Bill Condon gave us as a Christmas gift.

Breaking Dawn filming news - The Swan residence

Newsgirl News is keeping updates on the progress of the construction of the exterior on the Swan's residence in Surrey, British Columbia.

"Construction started early this morning in Kerry Park in Surrey. Twilight fans will be thrilled to learn that filming will return to British Columbia mid February. The Swan House was a location fans flocked to see during filming of both New Moon and Eclipse. The house is just a shell of a house with no interior decoration or structural design. The art department hangs the drapes and puts a lamp in the front window but the interior of the house is an empty shell. The interior shots of “The Swan House” are filmed on a sound stage.

The house will take about 7 to 10 days to complete. A large chain link fence surrounds the property and several No Trespassing Signs are hanging on the fence. Security at this location is quite high due to some naughty fans trying to collect a small bit of Movie History.

There are three large trees that have to be planted in front of the house and then a large tree outside of Bella’s bedroom window. Some of the landscaping has been completed and the driveway going down to the underground garage is also complete."

"Day three of construction. The giant trees have arrived and they will be planted in front of the house. Jacobs tree will be planted at the side of the house just outside of the bay window. "

"Day five of the construction of the Swan House. The house will be used for several outdoor scenes for Breaking Dawn. Film dates for the production will be from February 21 to April 13,2011."

Billy Burke hints at new scene in 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn'

Billy Burke (“Charlie Swan” in the Twilight series films) hinted at one thing Twilight fans can look forward to seeing from him in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

For me, my character actually gets to find out some stuff in these next two installments. I’ve been oblivious to the entire situation . . . so Charlie learns some things and I can’t wait for that moment when Charlie sees a werewolf.

In the book, we learned that Charlie saw Jacob transform in front of him. Here’s how it happened in the book. From pages 495-96:

“He phased in front of Charlie,” Edward hissed.

I whispered, “You what?”

“He’s brave. Brave as you are. Didn’t pass out or throw up or anything. I gotta say, I was impressed. You should’ve seen his face when I started taking my clothes off, though. Priceless . . . .

So I knocked on Charlie’s door this morning and asked him to come for a walk with me. He was confused, but when I told him it was about you and that you were back in town, he followed me out to the woods. I told him you weren’t sick anymore, and that things were a little weird but good.

He was about to take off to see you, but I told him I had to show him something first. And then I phased . . . I phased back and got dressed, and then after he started breathing again, I said something like ‘Charlie, you don’t live in the world you thought you lived in. The good news is, nothing has changed – except that you know now. Life’ll go on the same way it always has. You can go right back to pretending that you don’t believe any of this.’

It took him a minute to get his head together, then he wanted to know what was really going on with you, with the whole rare-disease thing. I told him you had been sick, but you were fine now – it was just that you’d had to change a little bit in the process of getting better. He wanted to know what I meant by ‘change,’ and I told him that you looked a lot more like Esme now than you looked like Renee . . .

After a few minutes, he asked, real quietly, if you turned into an animal, too. And I said, ‘She wishes she was that cool!’” Jacob chuckled.

"Charlie's side" was definitely included, so this is refreshing to hear that we'll actually get to see his reaction to the occasion rather than just hear about it.
