Bill Condon on Breaking Dawn and Edward's backstory [SPOILER ALERT!]

From Fandango:

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon graciously took the time to talk to us about what's on the mind of every Twilighter now that we're nearing the final weeks before the film. He's continued to remain tight-lipped about some details (which will make for a better moviegoing experience, of course) but he had much to say on the birth scene (his favorite), the highly anticipated wedding, as well as additional scenes from Edward's point of view! Warning: This interview contains spoilers.

Fandango: Fans are really looking forward to the wedding, the honeymoon, the birth and Bella's transformation scenes. What was your favorite to film and why?

Condon: They're all really fun but I have to say the birth. There was something that happened on those nights, but specifically the first night – there was something electric about it, so intense. Kristen [Stewart] was so powerful. Obviously, it's a very feverish scene with everybody kind of getting into that mode. It happens on a movie set sometimes. Everyone gets very hushed, and after and between the takes everyone's walking around, whispering and not talking – it was one of those. Kristen didn't get up. She was on that gurney and spent hours and hours there. That scene is the one I will remember more than anything.

Fandango: What is Irina doing at the wedding (as seen in movie photos)? That's noticeably different from the book.

Condon: In that case, it's just about good movie storytelling. Just imagine if she's not there and then in the second movie, she shows up, sees Renesmee and freaks out. No one will know who she is. People will talk about who she is, as they do in the book. Or you'd be stuck with some clunky flashback. To make something really cinematic, you put it into the present tense. She doesn't want to come, she's convinced to come, she gets there, she sees something that upsets her and she leaves – so that you see, you experience what it is that's bothering her. It's because her problem with the Cullens is the lynchpin for the entire second movie. Part of it why it's there has to do with servicing what's going to happen in the first half hour of the second film.

Fandango: You mentioned that Kristen Stewart cried when she read the wedding part of the book. Why do you think it resonated so much, and what other parts resonated with you?

Condon: I think so much of it resonated because the stakes were so high. A wedding is always a really moving thing, but [Bella] is walking down that aisle knowing she's never going to see her parents again. That's the thing that I think adds this extra kick of emotion. It's one thing to say goodbye to your dad and your mom and to thank them as you're going off to your honeymoon, but when you know you're going to be a vampire and never exist in [human] form again, it's something else. I think that was a big one – just talking about the movie a while before we started. Forget about the vampires and werewolves and everything. What are the human challenges? One of them is that first difficult year of marriage. You've had the fantasy, you've had the dream, you've gotten your dream, now it's a reality. Now you're waking up with him or her every day. What adjustments do you have to make when you change this fantasy to reality? That's an interesting human question. There's a lot of resonant stuff through the book that was very real on that level.

NEW Breaking Dawn Part 1 TV Spot - Love Forever

Source

[Ina Noorazan]

'Flightless Bird, American Mouth' wedding version for 'Breaking Dawn' revealed

Iron & Wine's "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" was notoriously included on the Twilight soundtrack after being suggested by Kristen Stewart ("Bella Swan"). In Twilight, it served as the background music to the final scene of the film - the prom dance between "Edward" and "Bella". In The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, it is expected that the "Wedding Version" of the song will be a part of the wedding scene.

VH1 has unveiled a video of the new version of the song. This new rendition of the song is more slow and serene than the first.

This is the fourth song from the Breaking Dawn - Part 1 soundtrack to be fully unveiled prior to its November 8th release. The others were Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain," Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years," and, most recently, The Belle Brigade's "I Didn't Mean it."

The Belle Brigade's 'I Didn't Mean It' from 'Breaking Dawn' OST lyrics video

The lyrics video for The Belle Brigade's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack contribution, "I Didn't Mean It," has been unveiled by Rolling Stone.

Brother-sister duo the Belle Brigade didn't set out to write "I Didn't Mean It" for the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 soundtrack, but it came out ideally suited to the mood of the hyper-romantic vampire flick. "We wrote 'I Didn't Mean It' while housesitting for our friend with a piano," says frontwoman Barbara Gruska. "We pretty much wrote the whole song in a few hours, which is a lot faster than usual. We were really excited about the song when we wrote it, and it kind of sat around for a little while until we were asked for material for Twilight. The song is about jealousy, so it works well with the whole Twilight love triangle."

It was revealed that the band hoped to see the song placed in a battle sequence.

This is the third Breaking Dawn soundtrack song to be revealed in full prior to the album's November 8th release, behind Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain" and Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years."

MTV: Bruno Mars' 'Breaking Dawn' Video Delayed

Bad news, Twilighters: You're going to have to wait a little longer for the video for Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain," the first single from the "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" soundtrack.

Originally, the clip was set to premiere Wednesday night on MTV — with a special live-stream event to follow on MTV.com — but those plans have been put on hold for the foreseeable future because the video isn't finished just yet.

Mars himself took to Twitter on Monday (October 24) to break the news about the "Rain" delay and to beg forgiveness from all the "Twilight" fans out there.

"Hey guys, I'm still working on the 'It Will Rain' video," Mars wrote. "The MTV premiere will happen in a couple weeks. Be patient for ya boy. Love y'all."

So fret not, "Twilight" fans. You'll still get your fix Wednesday, October 26, when Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years" video premieres at 6 a.m. ET/PT on AMTV, MTV Hits and MTV.com. And as soon as we get an update on "It Will Rain," you'll be the first to know about it, we promise.

Rob, Kristen and Taylor's handprints will be immortalized

We posted about a possible handprint ceremony of the Twilight cast at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater on November 3rd here, but now ChineseTheaters confirmed it with this twitter.

Press release from Summit:

(Hollywood, Calif., Oct. 17, 2011)---The most famous place in Hollywood, The Chinese Theatre (www.chinesetheatres.com), is set to honor the acting trio of “The Twilight Saga,” Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. The three will again appear together in the fourth installment of the blockbuster franchise “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," due in theatres Nov. 18.

The handprints-footprints ceremony honoring all three actors will take place Thurs., Nov. 3, at 10AM.

To date the “Twilight Saga” franchise’s first three films have grossed over a combined $1.8 billion at the worldwide box office.

The Chinese Theatre handprints and footprints ceremony is rich in tradition and provides the over four million people a year who visit the site an opportunity to experience the lore of Hollywood up close, for here lay the handprints and footprints of Hollywood’s most notable talents. Comedian Bob Hope even left an imprint of his legendary ski jump-shaped nose!

Unlike any other award in Hollywood, be it an Oscar® or a sidewalk ceremony, The Chinese Theatre handprints-footprints tribute is the most selective of all, since over the course of nine decades, only 250-plus such honors have been presented.

Movie exhibitor Sid Grauman, who was one of Hollywood’s best known and most creative showmen, opened The Chinese in 1927 and launched the handprints-footprints ceremony a year later, as a promotion to advertise his many premieres and first run films.

Among the first handprints and footprints were those of Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks. Within a few years, the famous forecourt of handprints and footprints on Hollywood Boulevard was flourishing and has since become an international tourist destination. Recent celebrants have included Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Johnny Depp and Jennifer Aniston.

Today, The Chinese Theatre forecourt is among the world’s most photographed tourist sites, annually attracting as many visitors as the Taj Mahal in India and the Prado Museum in Madrid. Along with Disneyland and Universal Studios, The Chinese Theatre is among Los Angeles’ top five tourist attractions, according to About.com.

In any given year, The Chinese Theatre hosts over 40 red carpet film premieres and since it opened, it has hosted three Academy Award® ceremonies and numerous world premieres, including those for internationally-acclaimed film franchises, such as “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter.”

More movie popcorn has been consumed here by more famous faces than anywhere else on earth and in 2012 The Chinese Theatre celebrates its 85th anniversary with many new innovations planned.

The ceremony will be broadcast live via streaming video on www.chinesetheatres.com

15 A 20 MAGAZINE- MEXICO : ROB, KRISTEN AND TAYLOR'S INTERVIEW

Special thanks to twilightpoison for the translation and scans. Check out the complete mag scans at their site.

Let’s talk about the wedding, Kristen’s dress, all the details…
Rob: Yes, the weddings are all about the girl, right? I was just standing there, waiting (laughs). Kristen was going crazy with the dress and everything, and I just kept thinking ‘I have to wear this stupid suit!’.
How has Kristen evolved all these years as an actress?
Rob: Well, she became an adult. She was 17 when we started, she’s 21 now. Her personality has changed a lot. As an actress, she’s always been very confident, that’s why I laugh when people say she’s shy. She’s not shy at all (laughs)

____
As an actor, was it difficult to shoot these scenes with Rob?
Kristen: Yes, filming these scenes was weird. In the end I didn’t feel like we had filmed a sex scene, because we were both so uncomfortable and insecure, and because it’s something very subjective. There’s times when there’s weird close ups, and everybody has such high expectations for these scenes.
So giving birth was easy in comparison, right?
Kristen: Oh, it was just as hard. Those three things: wedding, sex, baby, were very hard.

____
What do you like the most about Kristen?
Taylor: We’re very close, she’s very special to me. She’s definitely one of my best friends. An amazing person.
And Rob?
Taylor: He makes everyone laugh. He’s a great guy, he’s funny, he’s always having a good time, and we all have a blast together when he’s around.

What was the funniest part about filming this movie?
Taylor: Rob had to pretend he hit and I had to fly across the room, and it was so fun to shoot because Rob tried to be all kung fu master, so we were both cracking up, but the final shot looks amazing. It was the first time he did a scene with absolutely no doubles, so it was very funny. We had to do like 10 different takes.

Christina Perri's 'Breaking Dawn' soundtrack song 'A Thousand Years' video unveiled

The official music video and full-length song release for Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years," her contribution to the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, has been unveiled!

This is a lyric video and from the looks of it, it's clearly a love song from Bella and Edward on their wedding day perhaps?

Hearts beats fast, Colors and Promises
How to be brave, How can I love when I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone, All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer

I have died every day waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

Time stands still, Beauty in all she is
I will be brave, I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath, every hour has come to this
One step closer

I have died every day waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

All along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

Behind the Scenes footage from Breaking Dawn Part 1

From Collider:

Summit has released some behind-the-scenes footage from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn that we thought would be of interest to the many Twilight fans among you. There’s a lot of overlap with the recent featurette, but everything is broken up into individual clips. For my money, the coolest part is a collection of B-roll that shows director Bill Condon working his young stars. I love this kind of fly-on-the-wall insight into the filmmaking process. Additionally, we’ve included the new video interviews with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner that Summit added to the electronic press kit. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 opens on November 18 in the USA.
