'Twilight' fans are on Team Meyer

Ten lucky Twilight fans from around the world have come to the metropolitan Canadian city, vancouver, to meet the mega-selling author whose young-adult novels about an alluring vampire and his human soul mate have entranced them since 2005. This two-day chat fest with Meyer, which took place last Friday and Saturday (March 25th & 26th), was a top-secret affair. Even the attendees weren't told where in the world they'd be meeting with Meyer until after they were notified they were among the chosen 10. In roundtable discussions with Meyer at a Vancouver hotel, the winners discuss with finesse and endless authority vampire anatomy, werewolf legends, the back stories of the series' minor characters and, of course, the Edward/Bella/Jacob love triangle. Here are a few highlights that stood out: •On the illustrated guide: "My favorite part is the vampire histories. There's a lot there that's new. Alice's (Cullen) back story is one no one has known until now. And I think fans will be surprised at how much fun (Cullen nemesis) Victoria's story is." •On whether she'll ever write more books about Edward and Bella: "The story's already been told, and I doubt I'll ever write another series based on the same characters." •On the possibility she'd ever finish Midnight Sun, a Twilight novel told from Edward's viewpoint that she nixed when parts of it were leaked online in 2008: "I'm hoping to do it someday because I know that's what people want. No matter what book I put out from here to eternity they'll want Midnight Sun, but I'm just not writing about vampires right now." On Breaking Dawn •The much-anticipated wedding of Edward and Bella has not been filmed yet, but Stewart is being fitted for the as-yet-unrevealed bridal gown. "It's such an interesting mix," says Meyer. "It has a vintage feel, but at the same time, there's an edge to it. It's really beautiful. And then on Kristen — oh, she looks amazing in clothes —and in that dress she's so lithe and unbelievable." •On working with Pattinson and Lautner: "Rob is more like Jacob than Edward. He's goofy, he's funny, he doesn't take much seriously. But he can turn Edward on like that (she snaps her fingers) when he needs to be Edward. Taylor's who we hang out with most. He's a lot like fun, happy Jacob." •On her expanded role as co-producer of the two new movies: "The big difference is just being there and seeing everything. I feel I've seen so much of the movie and really understand what it will look like. There are still a lot of compromises. That hasn't changed. It doesn't make a huge difference, but I have a producer credit, which is crazy." One question she won't answer: whether the werewolf/shape shifter Jacob and Renesmee, the human/vampire hybrid child of Edward and Bella, could ever have children. (Jacob is a teenager, but baby Renesmee is aging at an accelerated rate.) "That is a question I'm reserving the right not to answer, because there is a chance I'll go back to their story." Peter Facinelli talks about Breaking Dawn and other Twilight scenes

Peter Facinelli was one of the special guests at the Los Angeles Twilight Convention that was held on the 4th - 6th, March 2011. TwiFans.com tweeted some of his answers to the questions that was posed to him.

Did anyone know that Peter laid on top of Kristen during the audition and shouted at Rob to get the venom out? Peter thought it would look weird if anyone walked in on that scene.

Peter said if he was younger he would have loved to play Edward.

It was Peter's idea to drop Edward during the Eclipse fight training. He thought Carlisle should one up Edward cause he's older.

Peter couldn't put Twilight down when he got the book for his meeting with Catherine Hardwicke.

Peter says the family scenes are like one big party. And loves those scenes in every Twilight movie.

Peter says during Rosalie's flashback, Nikki Reed couldn't "burst" through the doors and had to take several takes.

About 'Breaking Dawn'

Peter has filmed one day in Vancouver for Breaking Dawn and it was cold and rainy.

Peter says Bill Condon is enjoyable and very nice. Very communicative and receptive to ideas but hasn't seen any finished product.

Breaking Dawn script is Peter's fav script. It follows the book but has variations that we will like.

Peter thinks it is more exciting because we wouldn't want to see 2 hours of Bella on the couch. (when she's pregnant with Renesmee)

Peter says he likes surprises cause everyone already knows the books and it adds some excitement for fans.

Robert Pattinson's radio interview with Ryan Seacrest

Hollywoodcrush MTV has posted 4 things they learned from Robert Pattinson radio interview with Ryan Seacrest.
Braving the mud hills of his obscure Canadian location and risking getting beaten by members of the "Breaking Dawn" cast and crew, Robert Pattinson took time to call into Ryan Seacrest's radio show this morning for a brief chat. RPattz was surprisingly giggly (but to be honest, Ryan lends himself to that sort of response) and divulged a few details about his upcoming release, "Water for Elephants" with Reese Witherspoon, and the highly anticipated "Breaking Dawn." Here's what we learned:
As if this wasn't clear from the current Vanity Fair cover, he's an animal lover.
Robert formed a close relationship with Tai, one of the elephants featured in "Water for Elephants." "They're the most sophisticated, gentle creatures you could possibly hope to work with," he told Ryan. "I got carried around in her mouth the first day I met [Tai] and you suddenly realize how incredible they are."
Historical accuracy is so important to him, he even researched for his role in the Great Depression-era film.
"It's a big, beautiful old-fashioned love story, set in the '30s with me and Reese Witherspoon playing lovers. It's very sweet," he explained. "I watched a bunch of documentaries, but the main thing is the [Sara Gruen] novel it's based on is very historically accurate. Jack Fisk, who's the production designer, his sets were so incredibly authentic, and the costume designer and everything, it's an incredibly true to life adaptation of the book."
Team Edward fans made him nervous about taking on the "Water for Elephants" character of Jacob.
Wait a second, not that Jacob. "It's quite funny, as soon as I read [the script] that was one of my main concerns," Robert laughed. "I think the fact that he's Polish—Jacob Jankowski—takes away from [the similarities] a little bit. It's very different from 'Twilight.'"
Despite the constant buzz of media attention, he's content with where he is in his career.
"I'm pretty happy with the way things have gone. I mean, I stayed working, stayed pretty happy. I think that's the most you can ask for," he said. Sadly, Robert remained mum on details from the "Breaking Dawn" set, but did set the rumor straight that his fellow cast members are not on lockdown while secluded in "the middle of nowhere" Canada. "They're being super-secretive about all the stuff on this one but I think I can get out of my room," he laughed. But the next two months won't allow Rob much time for anything else, as "Breaking Dawn" continues filming until the premiere of "Water for Elephants" on April 22.

Robert Pattinson looking gorgeous on the cover of Vanity Fair

Robert Pattinson talks about Kristen Stewart and the drawbacks of his fame in the latest edition of Vanity Fair. You can find scanned articles and pictures here.

Press Release from VanityFair.com

“It’s just very traumatic,” Robert Pattinson tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Nancy Jo Sales of his rumored romance with co-star Kristen Stewart. “When this is over,” Pattinson says of Twilight mania, “the media will lose interest [in the relationship]. There’ll be nothing to say. It won’t fit into a headline anymore. It won’t fit into a template.”

“Kristen is very focused on being an actress,” Pattinson says. “I mean, that’s what she is—she’s an actress. Whereas I—I just don’t really know.” Pattinson also admits to Sales that he has admired Stewart for a long time. “She’s cool. Even before I knew her I thought she was a really good actress. Like, I saw Into the Wild, and I thought she was really good in that. I still think there are very few girls in her class that are as good as she is.”

Stewart aside, Pattinson reveals his true favorite co-star: Tai, the Indian elephant he worked with on his upcoming film, Water for Elephants. “She was the best actor I ever worked with in my life,” he says. “I cried when the elephant was wrapped. I never cried when anyone else was wrapped.” The film’s director, Francis Lawrence, confirms the on-set romance, saying, “I wouldn’t be surprised if Rob says the reason he took the movie was because of the elephant. He really fell in love.”

On set for Water for Elephants, Lawrence recounts how “news got out, and riding down the road to the set it was like Woodstock. Cars for two miles. People camped in the grass.” Pattinson’s co-star in the film, Reese Witherspoon, tells a similar story: “I’d never seen anything like that, ever. They were waiting at five o’clock in the morning to see him. Young girls. Where are their mothers?” “Rob could get ripped to shreds. They will rip the clothes off his body and pull his hair out,” Lawrence adds.

Having developed a fear of crazed fans in airports, Pattinson tells Sales about his roadtrip from Los Angeles to the set of Breaking Dawn in New Orleans, using only service roads and an iPhone to navigate. After stopping at a bar in Lubbock, Texas, Pattinson recalls experiencing a rare moment of anonymity. “No one recognized me or anything,” he says. “And I was like, Ah, this is really cool, sitting there eating chicken wings and stuff.” Before long, however, Pattinson’s fans tracked him down. “They always find out somehow,” he says, recalling how the street outside soon filled with 1,000 people, all hoping to catch a glimpse. A bouncer asked him, “You want us to go and knock someone out?,” and Pattinson says, “I was like, ‘What are you talking about? You don’t need to hit anybody.’ ”

Pattinson, whose e-mail has been hacked into twice by teenagers, insists to Sales that, despite the hype his fans have created, he’s not all that exciting. “I’m, like, a compulsive eater. I’m going to be so fat when I’m older, it’s ridiculous,” he admits, revealing Pretzel M&M’s as one of his weaknesses. Pattinson also admits that while he doesn’t “do anything, ever” in terms of scandals—which Witherspoon attests to, saying, “I hear so many horror stories about young actors with attitude showing up late or hung over, and there wasn’t any of that. He worked so hard”—he admires Charlie Sheen and his “little escapades,” explaining, “I like crazy people who don’t give a fuck.”

Perhaps not coincidentally, Sheen is the star of one of Pattinson’s favorite shows. “I’ve just kind of stopped doing everything,” he says. “I never change the channel in my trailer. I just watch reruns of House of Payne and Two and a Half Men. I love Cops—I think it’s my favorite TV show… God,” he says, laughing, “I sound like such a loser.”

“There’s nothing you can do about it. That’s the way it is,” Pattinson tells Sales of the Twilight mega-fame that has changed his life. “But it is weird being part of that, kind of representing something you don’t particularly like … God. I just really headbutted it.” Though Sales conducted the interview while Pattinson was filming the fourth and fifth installments in the series, he admits that he still has trouble grappling with the implications of being so famous. “This thing with everyone knowing you … it’s weird, because people have this one-sided relationship where they look at your picture and feel they know you more than someone they actually know,” Pattinson says. “I don’t really know myself that well.”

“I can’t really understand it even now,” Pattinson says of Twilight’s appeal to legions of fans. “It does have an angle which is attached to something quite primal in girls. I guess people want it to define them, like ‘I’m a Twilight fan.’… I think people really just like being part of a crowd. There’s something just tremendously exciting about hyping yourself up to that level.”

The April issue of Vanity Fair hits newsstands in New York and L.A. on Thursday, March 3, and nationally and on the iPad on Tuesday, March 8.
