GREAT!! Film Censorship Board: No Film Censorship in 2012

We all were very frustrated by the fact that almost 20 minutes from the original US cinema version of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part was cut!! The headboard scene, second intimate honeymoon scene, the Bella in bathroom scene and also the whole birth scene. And we have just got disturbing news about the censorship as well and we are still in disbelief!! Which made us even more rampage with rage!! But that is a whole different story.

Okay, so today Utusan newspaper (22/12/2011) publish an article that might make our day!! :). According to the article, films in 2012 do not have to go through film censorship process and it is up to the director and producer. Am not sure if this include foreign films but at this moment I am happy to hear it!!

Below is the short introduction article on the matter.

Translation:

  • Starting next year, Malaysia Censorship Board will no longer screen any film before it is released and the role is given to the film director and producer.
  • Chief Secretary of Internal Ministry said that this step has been taken after taking into consideration views of everyone in film industry
  • However, if there is any problem about the film shown, the film director and producer will be responsible.
  • He added, any film to be released in 2012 and has gone through censorship screening may appeal for the film to be released without censorship.

EW Magazine: Melissa Rosenberg "Dear Twihards: I Tried"

In one of the page of EW Magazine featuring the Robert, Kristen and Taylor last November 2011, Melissa Rosenberg replied to all twihards who were against her on some of the changes she made for the movie. Well, after reading her comment of our objection for Bella jumping onto Jacob's bike, I can see why.

This is my comment: Well Ms Rosenberg, if it was Taylor Lautner, maybe some of the girls are eager to jump onto his bike with him. BUT, this is Bella we are talking about and SHE WILL NEVER LEAVE EDWARD and jump on a bike with Jacob (not Taylor)!! Next time, just follow the book. That will be better. Oh, by the way, the scene was from Eclipse and not New Moon. However, you did a pretty good job with Breaking Dawn Part 1. I guess because Stephenie Meyer was there all the way to make sure you won't be too far of track.

Twilighters Malaysia on Harian Metro on 29th Nov 2011 - 'Vampire Phenomenon'

I was genuinely shocked to see how big our picture was at the front page of Hati column in Harian Metro newspaper. Although..the title inside is kind of cheeky. LOL.

Below is the article. It is in Malay language. Will translate soon. :0

Twilighters Malaysia - The Twilight Saga : Breaking Dawn Part 1 Special Screening

As we do every year, Twilighters Malaysia organized a special screening on 23rd November 2011 (one day before official release date in Malaysia - 24th Nov 2011) for the 4th sequel of The Twilight Saga. It is kind of sad to know that this will be the second last of the end of the saga. Nonetheless, we still manage to pull of a fun event for all the fans and hopefully they enjoyed the event as much as we do.

The board committee - From left: Nisa, me, Huda, Sunie, Ari & Shairli

These girls have helped me a lot since the beginning of the planning. Last year, everything was pretty much on my own. However, this year..since I am in my first trimester and couldn't be as active as before, the commitment and time were really important to make this happen. (someone said my life imitates Twilight since I am pregnant during Breaking Dawn :P) Thank you so much twi-sisters!! Love you all so much!!  I had a pretty bad temperature & non-stop vomiting the day before the event and prayed hard that I'll recover in event day. Fortunately I did. I guess my little nudger loves Twilight too!

Volunteers & board committee
From left : Dina's hubby, June, Diana, board committee, Pearly, Edura & Dina

On the event day, like every year, we have few volunteers to add up to the team to help us out during the event day with the goodie bags preparations and other task during the event. I personally thank all of them for their support and hard work on that day. You all have surely help us to make the event perfect!!

This year, the event was a bit more unique with the theme 'EPIC WEDDING'. I have rented the flower arch as a simbol of the wedding and Marsila (http://rizqcakes.blogspot.com), a fellow twilighters sponsored a beautiful and gorgeous (not to mention delicious) special design cupcakes standee that catch the eye of everyone that day. I really love it!!

Ain't that gorgeous??!!

Like last year, we have costume competition (cosplay) and also lucky draws. All these prizes & goodies are sponsored by our beloved sponsors Galaxie Magazine Malaysia, MPH Bookstores, Marriott Hotel Putrajaya, Warner Music Malaysia, Rizqcakes & Innoform Media. Also inconjucntion with Bella's pregnancy, we also had a special lucky draw for pregnant women. Yey!! I love giving out prizes!! Like I said to someone; "I love sharing the love for Twilight with others! It is so much FUN!! :)"

Some of the goodies given out that nite :)

The finalist

Norhidayah (Bella) & Syed Azman (Jacob) won the cosplay competition
They won : BD1 OST, BD1 Tall Coffee Cup, Marriott voucher, Monavie drink etc

Although the event might not be 100% perfect but I really hope everyone enjoyed being at the event and will continue to come for the finale next year. We are planning for a huge one for the finale!!

We thank you Pyrozyro Photography for all the excellent pictures. You may visit their blog for the update and click HERE for all the photos taken that night. :)

See you twihards next year!!

P/S: As Kristen Stewart is our heroic Snow White in Snow White & The Huntsman, we might just hold a special screening for it. So if you are a fan, do keep updated with our official site ;)

Carolina Herrera talks about designing the Breaking Dawn wedding dress

Carolina Herrera has spoken up about designing the wedding dress for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1. In the attached videos, we get to see some of the dress being constructed as well as an interview with Herrera in which she explained, "This dress had to be very special. And it's from the past, so I thought the inspiration had to be from the '20s, but it [also] has to be for now, since she's wearing it now."

Here are some interesting facts about the Breaking Dawn dress, unveiled by Summit Entertainment:

- Stephenie Meyer & Director, Bill Condon selected this design out of ten sketches that Ms. Herrera submitted.

- The wedding dress is handmade and took Ms. Herrera and four seamstresses six months to complete.

- The wedding dress was custom fit for Kristen Stewart.

- The dress is made out of crepe satin and French Chantilly lace

- 152 buttons line the back of the dress and there are 17 buttons on each sleeve

- Ms. Herrera designed the back of the dress to be a surprise, and she considers it very romantic.

- Ms Herrera plans to include the design in her 2012 collection and it will be available at her CHNY boutiques next year.

- The estimated value of Bella's wedding dress is USD$35,000.

- The bridal dress company Alfred Angelo will be selling a replica of the dress in select stores retailing at USD$799.

'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1' makes $72 million on opening day

The opening day figures for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 are in.

After coming in second all-time for highest midnight ticket sales with $30.25 million, the film went on to score a total of $72 million domestically yesterday, according to The Hollywood Reporter (more concrete numbers will be unveiled on Monday).

This puts Breaking Dawn - Part 1's opening day third on the list of highest opening day figures ever, following Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part II and The Twilight Saga: New Moon (which BD1 closely follows by a margin of less than one million).

THR also reports that the film scored another $66 million on the international front yesterday and that the total weekend projections for the film are still around $140 million.

So, while BD1 might not have had the highest opening day in history, being in the top three is still quite a feat.

Here are the opening day numbers for all four Twilight Saga films:

Twilight - $36 million
The Twilight Saga: New Moon - $72.7 million
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - $68.5 million
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 - $72 million

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 2 update

With one of two parts of the last installment premiering on November 18th for the Twilight saga, there is other buzz already about the second part of the film.

For all of you "Twi-hards" out there's a scoop on what to expect in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2."

Still directed by Bill Condon ("Dreamgirls," "Chicago," "Gods and Monsters"), part two is currently in the post-production phase.

Are you wondering which new actors will be part of the film?

Expect to see quite a few fresh faces, including Mackenzie Foy, the young girl who plays the very important role of Renesmee.

In the book, Renesmee is just a baby who progressively gets older as a child, so the big stir about Foy playing the part will definitely be something to wait for.

It has been said in recent interviews with Robert Pattinson that much of the baby scenes are "full of CGI effects," but that Foy does a good job of playing a vampire baby.

Other actors to look out for are Rami Malek ("Benjamin"), Mia Maestro ("Carmen"), Judith Shekoni ("Zafrina"), Amadou Ly and Janelle Froehlich.

But besides having an addition to the already large cast, the most shocking announcement is the addition of a new coven to the movie.

Both Ly and Froehlich confirmed in an interview with Yahoo movies! Monday that Stephanie Meyer, author of the saga, wrote in a new French Coven into the movie.

The French vampire coven does not exist in the books. Members of the coven consist of mates Yvette and Henri.

Henri, the leader of the coven possesses the gift to flick people away with his index finger while the special ability of Yvette is still to be revealed. No announcement has been made whether the coven sides with the Cullens or the Volturi.
