'Twilight' climbs to USD $83.6M over holiday weekend

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" finished the long Fourth of July weekend with $83.6 million, raising its total since opening last Wednesday to $176.4 million.

"The Last Airbender" debuted a strong No. 2 with $51.8 million.

The top 20 movies at U.S. and Canadian theaters Friday through Monday, followed by distribution studio, gross, number of theater locations, average receipts per location, total gross and number of weeks in release, as compiled Tuesday by Hollywood.com are:

1. "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," Summit, $83,637,242, 4,468 locations, $18,719 average, $176,382,220, one week.

2. "The Last Airbender," Paramount, $51,804,232, 3,169 locations, $16,347 average, $69,315,329, one week.

3. " Toy Story 3," Disney, $43,057,129, 4,028 locations, $10,689 average, $301,883,298, three weeks.

4. "Grown Ups," Sony, $26,052,792, 3,534 locations, $7,372 average, $84,634,307, two weeks.

5. " Knight and Day," Fox, $14,151,734, 3,104 locations, $4,559 average, $49,460,348, two weeks.
